to inner -city residents by improving existing parks and
recreational facilities.

Dear Mr. Parent:
The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to
approve the enclosed ordinance in the amount of $25,000.00 for a
perimeter fence at Pulaski Park.
Pulaski Park is bounded by railroad tracks on the north and south
which is an attractive hazard for small children using the park.
The park has become extremely popular for the residents of the
neighborhood and many small children visit the park everyday. Their
safety is the Park Department's concern.
Hopefully, the fenced -in park will reduce the vandalism that has
been occurring at the park.
The fence request for the Pulaski Park was submitted to the Park
Board by the Mexican American Council, Inc. and the Programa
Juvenil del Barrio (a neighborhood youth organization).
Very truly yours,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLI PARKS
