COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING: SEPTEMBER 23, 1957
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the'
Council Chambers, Monday, September 23, at 8:23 P.M., with all members present. Councilman Carr,'Chairman, called
the meeting to order and presided..
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND $512.00 TO OFFICE OF
CITY JUDGE, ACCOUNT E -727 LAW BOOKS, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR 1957 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY
EMERGENCY.
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Glass made a motion
that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FROM POLICE PENSION FUND ACCOUNT Z -532, PENSIONS
OF POLICEMENT BECOMING ELIGIBLE DURING YEAR, THE SUM OF $1800.00 TO POLICE
PENSION FUND ACCOUNT Z -534, DEATH BENEFITS, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE
r YEAR 1957 OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DECLARING AN
EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinanca;Councilman Muszynski made a motion
that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO. BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 37029 AS
AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA (Esther & Ruskin Streets -- Associates)
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Hahn made a motion that
the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilmanâ–ş Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE ANNEXING LANDS TO AND DECLARING SAME TO BE A PART OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on thislOrdinance. Councilman Erler made a motion that
the first copy of °the Ordinance be stricken from the file and that this copy be amended by substitution Councilman
Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Korpal then made a motion that this Ordinance be set for
public hearing on October 14, 1957. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

THE MAYOR, ACCOUNT A -214, TELEPHONE &:TELEGRAMS, $300.00; AND TO OFFICE
` OF THE BOARD OF WORKS, ACCOUNT H -214, TELEPHONE & TELEGRAMS, $300.00,
_ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR 1957
AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Hahn made a motion that
the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn. Council
man Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at 8 :48 P.M.
