COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
APRIL 22, 1957
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the
Council Chambers, Monday, April 22, 1957, at 8:07 P.M., with all members present. Councilman Carr, Chairman, presided
ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO. BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Esther & Ruskin Streets)
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Hahn made a motion that
the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Sec. 17, Sub - section (k) )
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Tellson made a motion
that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM OF $7,000.00
TO FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT Q -711, BUILDINGS AND FIXTURES EQUIPMENT, ALL OF THE BUDGET
FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR 1957 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY
EMERGENCY.
Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Calix Miller, Architect for the
new Fire Station explained why costs were up over the last construction of a fire station. He stated the amounts
of bids submitted to the Board of Works and Safety. City Engineer Ray Andrysiak also answere questions. Councilman
Hahn made&:a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. Council-
man Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at 8:28 P.M.
