HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-24-56 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1956 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole meet- ing in the Council Chamber, September 24th, 1956, at 8 :10 P.M., C.D.S.T., (7:10 P.M., C.S.T.), with all members present except Councilman Muszynski and Councilman Glass. The meeting was called to order by Councilman George W. Carr, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE NO. 4121 Public Hearing on an Ordinance Creating the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. Councilman Hahn made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the mo- tion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE Public Hearing on Petition of First Bank & Trust Cbmpany to rezone Lots 247 to 254 of Broadmoor, Third Addition from "B " Residential to "D "Commercial. Motion by Councilman Korpal that the Ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the mo- tion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE`NOr.4122 Public Hearing on an Ordinance transferring and appropriating from Office of Controller B -58 Civil Defense $66.00, to Police Department P -11, Services Personal. Councilman Hahn made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Erler seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4123 Public Hearing on.an Ordinance appropriating from the General Fund $2,500.00 to Office of City Controller B -59, Social Security. Motion by Councilman Tellson that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. ?potion carried. ORDINANCE . . Public Hearing on Petition of John Sokol, et al, to rezone lots 112, 113 and 114 of iTalnut Second .addition from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial. Motion by Councilman Hahn to set this matter over for two weeks. Councilman Hahn withdrew his motion in order to give people present an opportunity to talk on this matter. Councilman Kroll made a. motion to postpone this matter ".until October 8, 1956 for a decision by the Committee of the W,).ole. Councilman Er_ler Seconded the motion . Motion. carried.
