AUGUST 8TH 1955
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Committee of the Whole meeting in
the Council Chamber, Monday, August 8, 1955, at 8:22 P.M. (E.S.T.), will all members present. Chairman Hahn
presided.
ORDINANCE NO. 4057 (AS AMENDED)
"An Ordinance establishing a cumulative sinking fund to be known as the Track Elevation Fund Under Chapter 192
of the Acts of 1955 General Assembly of the State of Indiana ".
Councilman Korpal made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Muszynski
seconded the motion. On Roll call vote, the motion was lost, 2 ayes (Korpal and Muszynski) and 6 nays (Councilmen
Erler, Pinter, Bestle, Niezgodski, Glass and Hahn).
It was moved by Councilman Erler, seconded by Councilman Bestle that Line 2 of Section 2 of the Ordinance be
amended as follows: The words "is hereby levied" be deleted'.and the following words be substituted therefor:
"is hereby ordered levied in the tax levy of 1956 ". Motion carried.
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable as amended. Councilman
Glass seconded the motion. On Roll Call vote, the motion was carried, 6 ayes (Councilmen Erler, Pinter, Bestle,
Niezgodski, Glass and Hahn), 2 nays (Councilmen Korpal and Muszynski).
There being no further,business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to
adjourn, which motion was seconded by Councilman Glass. Motion carried, and the Committee of the Whole meeting
adjourned at 9:03 P.M.
