SPECIAL MEETING
The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special session November 29th, 1954, at the hour
of 5:30 P.M. in accordance with the rules of the Council was called for the purpose of passing a Resolution of
condolence to Mrs. F. A. Miller, his widow, family and friends.
RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
WHEREAS: God in His infinite widsom has called from this life a distinguished citizen
of our community, Mr. F. A. Miller, and
WHEREAS: Mr. Miller's life has been characterized by long years of fruitful service
to his city, and
WHEREAS: Under his leadership The South Bend Tribune has become one of the nation's
great newspapers, and
WHEREAS: The growth and progress of the City of South Bend have been singularly
implemented by this man's career,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
That we, the Common Council of the.City of South Bend, do extend to Mrs.
F. A. Miller, his widow, and all other members of his family, and to his
fellow- workers at The South Bend Tribune, our deep sympathy in this hour of
sorrow and loss,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
That the Clerk of the City of South Bend duly certify this Resolution, enter
it into the minutes of the Council, and a copy to be sent to the bereaved.

Councilman Hahn made a motion for the adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
The Special Sess+lon adjourned at 5:50 P.M.
