Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council Chamber,
Monday, June 14th, 1954, at 8:25 PeM, , with all members present except Councilman Alford. President Erler
presided.
REPORT OF COILMITTEE ON MINUTES
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have
inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend
that the same be approved•

Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion

PETITION
Petition to rezone Lot No. 6 and Lot No. 5 except the East 18 -1/2 feet of Lot No. 5 in Rockfellerts First Addition
from "B" Use District and "B" Height and Area District to "C" Use District and "C" Use Area District%

Councilman. Hahn made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Niezgodski
sec Ended the motion. Motion carried.
REPORT OF THE COPIUAITTEE OF THE WHOLE
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3702 commonly known as the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana% (Offices of physicians and dentists).
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council
as favorable.

Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council
as favorable.

To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance appropriating certain monies from the General Fund
to the General Improvement Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana and declaring an emergency ".
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council
as favorable.
Councilman Bestle made a motion that the report be accepted.

two weeks for further study.

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING DEALERS IN SCRAP OR JUNK MATERIALS,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND REGULATION THEREOF;
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT.
The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion
that the ordinance be held up for two weeks for further studyq and that Mr. Paul Butler, Attorney, be notified
to attend this meeting. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

OF ANY BUILDING OR STRUCTURE WHICH IS OR THREATENS TO BE A PUBLIC
NUISANCE, DANGEROUS TO THE HEALTH, MORALS, SAFETY OR GENERAL WELFARE
OF THE POEPLE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND OR WHICH MIGHT TEND TO CONSTITUTE
A FIFE MENACE; ESTABLISHING A DEPARn ENT OF SUB - STANDARD BUILDINGS AND
UPIELLINGS; PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT A?`TD FIXING PENALTIES
AND PROCEDURES FOR VIOLATIONS.
The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion
that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the '71hole for public hearing on June 28th. Councilman Hahn
seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that
the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on June 28th. Councilman Bestle
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that Harry Tomlinson, Street Commissioner, appear at the next Council
meeting. on June 28th to explain the reason for posting signs at 11:00 P.M. in outlying districts for street
cleaning p,�rposes. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the Traffic Engineer appear at the next Council meeting on June 28th
to explain what could be done to remedy the flow of traffic at Olive and Washington Sts. Councilman Bestle
seconded, the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn, which motion
,fts seconded by Councilman Mahn. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
