Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Committee of the Whole meeting in
the Council Chamber, Monday, April 26th, 1954, at 8:08 P *M., with all members present. Chairman Hahn presided.
ORiDINANCE
"An Ordinance transferring monies from various transportation allowances to travel expenses of the budget of 1954 ",
Councilman Erler made a motion that the ordinance be held over for two weeks. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the
motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 6 ayes (Councilmen Erler, Alford, Korpal, Bestle, Niezgodski and
Muszynski) - 3 nays (Councilmen Pinter, Glass, and Hahn.). ,
ORDINANCE
"An Ordinance establishing a fixed mileage rate for reimbursement for city officials and employees in the use of
private conveyances for city business ".
Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be held over for two weeks. Councilman Korpal seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
"An Ordinance concerning dealers in scrap or junk materials, and providing for the licensing end regulation
thereof, penalties for the violation, and repealing all ordinances in conflict therewith%
Councilmen Niorpal made a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee and any councilman
interested .'in this ordinance be invited to attend this meeting and amendments drawn and presented to the next
Council meeting on May 10th. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilmaii Niezgodski made a motion that the Slum Clearance Ordinance be held up until May 10th. Councilman
Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn,
which motion was seconded by Councilman Niezgodski. Motion carried, and the Committee of the Whole meeting
adjourned at 8:22 P.M.
