STATE OF INDIANA ) SS: ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ) CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING To the President, and members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana.: Gentlemenr You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., on Wednesday, February 24th, 1954, for the purpose of considering the following ordinance, to -witr "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND FROM THE O1MERS OF PROPERTY SERVED BY THE SEVIAGE DISPOM WORKS OF SAID CITY, AND OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH". The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting. HENNESSY City Clerk of the City of South end, Indiana The within call came to hand this 20 day of February, 1954, which I served by reading the saw to each Councilmen, upon the date designated as follows: Mr. Clem Niez godski 1312 Fassnacht Ave. Michael R. Pinter 736 W. Indiana Ave. Walter C. Erler Sr. Mrs. Molly Isza for Percy Alford Stanley C. Korpal IN and by leaving a certified copy thereof at the last and usual place of residence of such members as I was unable to find, as follows: Mr. Who Hahn 128 N. Eddy, Apt. 3 -A Mrs. Cloyd Bestle Mr..C. Muszynski 2210 Western Ave. Mr. Walter G. Glass 714 - 23rd Bt. Sgt. M. Zarembka Member of the bouth Bend Police Department Councilman Glass made a motion that the call be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. G1AL ET INC;: FEBRUARr 24TH9 1954 To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the 'Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance fixing the schedule of rates and charges to be collected by the City of South Bend from the owners of property served by the Sewage Disposal Works of said City, and other matters connected therewith ". Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. W. A. HAHN, Chairman Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Notion carried. Reported by President Erler that Notice of Public Hearing on this ordinance was duly published in the South Bend Tribune on Frebruary 11th and 18th, 1954. Proof of publication was placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. Time and place of public hearing, February 24th, 1954, at 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambero, President Erler stated that Mr. Skeleton, Mr. Monahan and Mayor Scott were in attendance at the meting to answer any questions that might arise about this proposed ordinance. ORDINANCE N0. 3964 f AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND FROM THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY SERVED BY THE SEWAGE DISPOSAL WORKS OF SAID CITY, AND OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Erler, Alford, Korpal, Pinter, Bestle, Niezgodski, Glass, Hahn and Muszynski) - 0 nays. 1. There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting, which motion was seconded by Councilman Bestle.
