President Erler presided. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the,City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. REPORT OF COMMITTEE - FUEMM INSPECTION ORDINANCE The Committee met with a Committee of Heating Engineers on the study of the Furnace Ordinance and report that the Ordinance be accepted as amended and a public hearing be held. REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION The Plan Commission to whom was referred the petition above referred to, respectfully reports that after due publication of notice it conducted a public hearing thereon at 7 :30 o'clock P.M., September 3, 1953, and that no one at said hearing objected to the granting of said petition. Having carefully considered the matter, the Plan Commission, with the acquiescense of the petitioners, recommends the adoption of the proposed ordinance if it be 94iondec to read -substantially in conformity with attached copy. The ordinance was given third reading and passed'by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. UNFINISHED BUSINESS . City Water Shpt, Edwin. Turnook appeared before the Council and stated that the Department is about to award contracts for drilling two new wells, one at the Oliver Station in the Southwest and one in at the Coquillard station is the Northeast. He also stated that a reservoir in the southwdst section might ultimately be necessary. Councilman. Korpal made a motion that A" s vial committee be appointed to work in conjunction with the City Water Supto to study the water situation in the vicinity of the 700 block of W. Ewing Avenue. Councilman Niezgodsld seconded the motion. Motion carried. President Erler named Councilmen Hahn., Alford and Niezgodski to serve on the committee. Mr. William Shea, real estate officer of the Chicago regional office of the Federal Public Housing Administrati told the Council that it would soon be asked to waive several building code and zoning ordinance violations in order that the project units may be offered for sale to occupants. There being no other business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by Councilman Alford. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 10:01 P.M.
