REPORT -OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the City of South Bendr Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend that the same be approved. Meeting of December 8th, 1952. Councilman Niezgodski. made a motion that the report be accepted. carried. Motion We, the undersigned, owners of more than fifty (50) percent of the real estate hereinafter set outq, do hereby respectfully request and petition the members of the Common Council to re -zone the said described real estate from the present classification of "B" Residential, "B "Height and Area"District to the classification of "C" Commercial and "B" Height and Area District; ` Lots numbered 16, 17 and 18 in J. -G. Bartlett's First Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend, Indiana; Lots numbered 37, 36, 35 and 39 in J. G. Bartlett's Second Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend, Indiana; and that part of Bank Out Lot No. 124 of the Second Plat of Out Lots to the Town, now City of South Bend, Indiana, platted by the State Bank of Indiana, adjacent to Lot No. 39 as shown on the recorded plat of J. G. Bartlett's Second Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend, which part of said Bank Out Lot No. 124 is also described as beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot No. 39 in J. G. Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable* We A. Councilman Glass seconded the motion* Motion carried* REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION To the Common Council, City of South Bend, Ind. Gentlemen: Petition of LaMar Austin for change of zoning of a 40 x 120 ft# part of lot No* 1025 in LaSalle Park 2nd Add* from B residence district to Commercial district was'given public hearing before the City Plan Commission on Jan* 8, 1953. The City Plan Commission recommends that this change be made from B residence and A height and area districts to C-1 commercial and D height and area districts* This lot is at the N:W* corner of Washington and Illinois Streets* Yours truly, D. City Clerk Referring to the matter referrdd to Board of Public Works,, under date of Deco 15th; the following excerpt of minutes of-the Board's deferred regular meeting, Dec. 100 1952, sets forth the most recent action in this matter - "The lighting situation at the Illinois Street and Chicago Street intersections with Lincoln Way was discussed, and the delay of installation explained as having been due to difficult in securing a type of lighting for these locations in uniformity with the established lighting at difficulty Way West." Action taken in the matter at the Board's regular meeting of November 24., is covered by the following excerpt'.; - - from the minutes "Supt. Ira Hunsberger, being present., reported on a petition for the installation of street lighting on Lincoln Way West from Bendix Drive to Chicago Street. Supt.
