SUBJECT: Request to Advertise Public Hearing on September 26, 2013-SBCDA Plan
Amendments
Staff requests Redevelopment Commission approval to advertise a public hearing on
September 26th that amends the South Bend Central Development Area (SBCDA) Plan via a
confirming resolution.
This request follows the commission's approval of a declaratory resolution on August 15;
approval by the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County on August 20; and anticipated
approval by the South Bend Common Council approval on September 9.
As a reminder, the primary purpose of these text amendments is to emphasize importance
of adding and expanding the range of downtown housing unit types within the SBCDA,
particularly those that encourage the provision of affordable housing and live -work space for
a rt ists.
