Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council
Chamber, Monday, July 14th, 1952, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Hahn. President Erler
presided.
REPORT OF COTMAITTEE ON MINUTES
To the Common Council of the City of South. Bend:
Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have
inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend
that the same be approved.

We the undersigned petition the South Bend City Council to change the zone from "A" Residential "All Height and
Area to "B" Residential "B" Height and Area of lots 1, 21 3, 49 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 of Navarre Place Subdivision.,
The undersigned dieing the owners of- -the above property. These lots are on the east side of Michigan St. and north
of North Shore Drive.

Comes now Andrew Medich who would respectfully show:
That he is the owner in fee simple of Lots Numbered Two Hundred sixty six, Two hundred and sixty seven and Lot
Numbered Two hundred and sixty eight in Shively's First Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana; that said
Lots are now classified as Residential.
Petitioner would show that it is his desire to build on said Lots aforesaid and prays the Council to change said
classification from "B" Residential and "A" Height and Area to "D" Light Industrial and "E" Height and Area.

We. the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to improve the deplorable condition in LaSalle
Park Addition to South Bend by imposing the immediate stoppage of refuse and debris burning in Beck Lake Dump
as a smoke, fire, health, and property hazard.

Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the petition be referred to the Board of Public Works with the suggestion
that some action be taken on the smoke ordinance. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Minion carried.

Plan Commission at a special meeting June 12, 1952.
This change is recommended to the Council, here Michigan was originally zoned "C" commercial on both sides.

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Contract heretofore entered
into by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Rieth -Riley
Construction-Company of South Bend, Indiana, for the re- surface paving of CHAPIN STREET from the south line of
Washington Avenue to.t he northwesterly line of Prairie Avenue for the contract price of Eighty thousand, nine
hundred sixty -nine dollars and no cents ($80,969.00) is confirmed and approved.

NEW BUSINESS
Councilman Glass made a motion that the Board of Public Works report to the Council at their next meeting on
July 28th on what is being done about the East Jefferson Boulevard sewer. Councilman Korpal seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the City Attorney notify the Chief of Police and he in turn notify the
Desk Sargeant in regard to calls received relative to enforcing ordinance regarding sprinklers setting in center
of sidewalks. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion
was seconded by Councilman Muszynski. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
