HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-22-51 Council Meeting Minutes753 II REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 22ND, 1951 Be it remembered that the Common Council, of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council' Chamber, Monday, October 22nd, 1951, at 8:07 P.M., with all members present except Councilmen Korpal and Muszynski. Vice - President Kemper called the meeting to order. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend that the same be approved. Meeting of October 8th,-1951. ALVIN P. KEMPER ) Committee Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Erler seconded the motion. Motion carried. PETITION To the Honorable South Bend City Council: We,,the undersigned residents and propeiVowners in the City of South Bend, hereby petition your honorable body that the zoning for the following described real estate be changed from {Class "B" Residential to Class "C" Commercial: Lots K, L, M, N and 0, all in Wenger and Kreighbaum's Vistula Avenue Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Respectfully, (9 Signers) Councilman Erler made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1951 SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF TWELVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED ($12,600.00) DOLLARS, TO CERTAIN OTHER BUDGETARY ITEMS OF THE 1951 BUDGET OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAOR13INARY EMERGENCY. The ordinance was given first reading' 'by title and -second reading in full. Councilman Bestle made a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on November 13th, 1951. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business before -.the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by Councilman Glass. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 8:11 P.M.
