COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
MAY 14TH. 1951
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
meeting in the Council Chamber, May 14th, 1951, at 8:15 P.M., with all members present except Councilman
Muszynski. Chairman Korpal presided.
ORDINANCE NO. 3816
"An Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, appropriating the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($500,000.00) to be applied on the cost of construction and improvement of streets, and expenses incurred in
connection therewith ".
Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Niezgodski seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 3817
"An Ordinance reducing a certain item in the 1951 South Bend, Indiana, Civil City budget; and appropriating from
the General Fund of said city the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars to a certain other budgetary item of
the 1951 budget of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, and declaring an extraordinary emergency ".
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kemper
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Erler made a motion that the "Ordinance amending Section 5 of,Ordinance No. 3743, commonly known as
Fire Prevention Ordinance, adopted on April 24, 1950" be held over until the next meeting on May 28th.
Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Erler made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by
Councilman Niezgodski. Motion carried, and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
