To the President, and members of the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Gentlemen:
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of
South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to
meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., Central Standard Time, on
Monday, November 13, 1950, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING AN AGREEMENT
MADE AND ENTERED INTO ON OCTOBER 16, 1950, BY AND
BETWEEN THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ST. JOSEPH
COUNTY, INDIANA, AND THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY,
CONCERNING THE TRANSFER OF TITLE TO THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, TO CERTAIN REAL ESTATE THEREIN DESCRIBED.
The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice
on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

ORDINANCE NO. , 3783
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING AN AGREEMENT
MADE AND:ENTERED INTO ON OCTOBER 16, 1950, BY AND
BETWEEN THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ST. JOSEPH
COUNTY, INDIANA, AND THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY,
CONCERNING THE TRANSFER OF TITLE TO THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, TO CERTAIN REAL ESTATE THEREIN DESCRIBED.
The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for
suspension of rules. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays.
The ordinance was given third reading and passeo6y a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays.
A G R E E M E N T
THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this 16th day of October, 1950, by and between the BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS QV0XMMKZ33ZMM= OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA, hereinafter referred to as "Commissioners ", and the
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, acting by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, hereinafter called
"Board ", WITNESSETH:
For One Dollar ($1.00) and other valuable consideration the Commissioners agree to sell to the Board
the following described real estate situate in St. Joseph County, Indiana:
Beginning on the East and West center line of Section 27, Township No. 38
North, Range 3 East, a distance of one thousand four hundred thirty and six
tenths (1,430.6) feet East of the West Quarter ('A) corner of said section,
thence North six hundred sixty (660) feet, thence East six hundred (600) feet,
thence South six hundred sixty (660) feet, thence West six hundred (6 00) feet
to the place of beginning, containing nine and ninety -nine hundredths (9.99)
acres', more or less*

NOVEMBER 13TH, 1950
The Commissioners and the Board agree that this sale is to be consumated pursuant to the requirements
of Section.26 -2027 and Section 26- 2028,'Burns Indiana Statutes Annotated 1933, and each party hereto agrees to
take the necessary legal steps to effect the transfer of said real estate.
It is agreed by and between the Commissioners and the Board that said real estate may be used for such
purposes as the Board shall designate. Since said land now is being developed by the Board as a pistol and rifle
range for use by the South Bend Police Department, it is agreed as part of the consideration for said transfer
that the Sheriff's Department of the County of St. Joseph, shall at all reasonable times be permitted to avail
itself of the use of said property as a pistol and rifle range subject to the Board's rules and regulations
pertaining to said range; such use, however, shall be secondary to the use of such property and installations
by the Board and shall be planned so as not to interfere with the full and free use and enjoyment on the part of
the Board.
Tide to said real estate shall be conveyed to the Board by deed upon completion of all statutory
requirements.

Councilman Glass made a motion that the Agreement be accepted. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by
Councilman Tellson. Motion carried, and the Special Meeting adjourned at 8 :10 P.M.
