AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA APPROPRIATING $203,000 FROM THE COUNTY OPTION INCOME TAX
FUND (FUND 404) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE MAIN/LAFAYETTE
CROSSOVER PROJECT
Statement of Puroose and Intent:
In order to allow the City to continue the Main/Lafayette Crossover Project, funds shall be
allocated as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The sum of $203,000 is hereby appropriated within Fund 404 for planning,
acquisition and related development costs of the Main/Lafayette Crossover Project.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in frill force and effect from and after its passage by the
Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate $203,000.00 from the County
Option Income Tax fund to continue the Main/Lafayette Crossover project. These funds are needed to
continue the planning, acquisition, and project development. This will provide better access to Erskine
Commons and improve traffic circulation and safety at the connection of Main and Lafayette between
Ireland and Chippewa.
If you have any questions, please call Bill Schalliol at 235-5842. Either Bill or Don Inks will present
this bill at your June 25, 2007 meeting.
