AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR CERTAIN
DEPARTMENTAL AND ENTERPRISE OPERATIONS IN 2013 OF $246,770 FROM
CENTURY CENTER CAPITAL FUND ( #671)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common Council passed the City's 2013 operating and capital budgets in
2012 (Ordinance #10198 -1, passed October 29, 2012), which included expenditures for
various City enterprise operations. It is now necessary to appropriate additional funds of
$246,770 in the Century Center Capital Fund ( #671) to purchase critical items for food
and beverage operations and kitchen repairs at the facility as identified by SMG
Corporation The funding is provided by a capital contribution of $575,000 from SMG.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The following amounts are hereby appropriated in fiscal year 2013 and
set apart within the following designated funds for operational expenses as follows:

RE: 2013 Century Center Capital Fund Additional Appropriation Request
Dear President Dieter,
Enclosed please find a bill for an additional appropriation in the amount of $246,770 in
Century Center Capital Fund ( #671). This bill requests an additional appropriation for
costs associated with purchasing critical items for food and beverage operations and
kitchen repairs at the facility as identified and requested by SMG Corporation. The
funding is provided by a capital contribution of $575,000 from SMG as per the contract.
I will be available to discuss this substitute bill with the Common Council at the
appropriate committee and council meetings. It is requested that this bill be filed for 1St
reading on August 12, 2013 with 2nd reading, public hearing and 3rd reading scheduled for
August 26, 2013.
