After reviewing those bids, Mr. Jason Durr,Engineering,recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Batteast Construction, in the amount of $128,460.55, which is the base. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM - PROJECT NO. 1031072 BOND Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on July 1, 2004, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, H.G. Christman, 850 South Fellows, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $5,189,000.00, plus alternates Al ($22,600.00); A2 ($11,900.00); A3 ($2,900.00); M1 ($7,400.00); E1 ($7,800.00); and E3 (no charge) with a total bid of $5,241,600.00.
