REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 23RD, 1950
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the
Council Chambers, Monday, January 23rd, 1950, at 8.15 P.M. with all members present except -Councilman Bestle.
President Erler presided.
REPORT OF C(ITTEE ON MINUTES
To the Common Council of the 'City of South Bends January 23, 1950
Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have
inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend
that the same be approved.

Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
PETITION
To the Honorable Board of Public Works and Safety
of the City of South Bend, Indiana January 13, 1950
Gentlemen:
We, the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to re -route heavy commercial trucks from
traveling on Indiana Ave. from Walnut 8treat to Olive Street.

Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the. petition be referred to the Board of Public Works for
investigation with a report to the Council at their next regular meeting on February 27th. Councilman Glass
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
PETITION
I, the undersigned, petition the City Plan Commission of South Bend to rezone Lots #45 and +46 in Krou and
Whitmore's Subdivision in twenty -nine hundred (2900) block South Michigan Street to rezone said lots from
residential to commercial.

Councilman- Korpal made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman
Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
PETITION
To: The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana
Petition to Amend Zoning Ordinance No. 3702
The undersigned respectfully asks and requests that your Honorable Body, amend Zoning Ordinance No. 3702 by
changing the zoning classification of Lot No. 658 as shown on the recorded Third, Plat of Summit Place Addition
to the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and the same hereby-is changed from B Residence and A Height and Area
Districts to -C Commercial and D Height and Area Districts.

Petition to Amend Zoning Ordinance No. 3702
The undersigned respectfully asks and requests that your Honorable Body amend Zoning Ordinance No. 3702 by
changing the zoning classification of Lots Numbered 28 to 50, both inclusive, and Lots Numbered 75 to 97,
both inclusive, University Heights Addition to the City of South Bend from A Residential Use District to B
Residential and Use District.

ORDINANCE NO. 3733
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 55, OF CHAPTER 29,
OF ORDINANCE NO. 3709, APPROVED JULY 12, 1949,
COMONLY KNOWN AS "MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1949".
The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 1 absent (Beetle).
ORDINANCE N0. 3734
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $383.33 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND OF THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, TO THE BUDGETARY ITEM C -11, SERVICES - PERSONAL,
OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, IN THE 1950 MUNICIPAL CIVIL
CITY BUDGET OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND
DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 1 absent ( Bestle).
There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgo dski made a motion to adjourn, which
motion was seconded by Councilman Tellson. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 8::50 P.M.
