Central Standard Time with all members present except Councilmen Kemper and Muszynaki. Chairman Korpal presided. ORDINANCE NO. 3715 (AMENDED) An Ordinance appropriating moneys for the purpose of defraying the expenses of all budget - operated departments of the Civil City of 6outh Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1950, and ending December 31, 1950, including departments, funds and commissions for which money is appropriated, in whole or in part, from funds other than the general funds of said City, to wit: Street, Traffio and Park Departments, firemen's Pension and Policemen's Pension Funds, and the City Plan Commission: Providing that such approppriations shall include all outstanding claims and obligations: fixing the salaries of all City Officials and Amployees, repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith: providing a time when the same shall take effect. &FICE OF' CITY JUDGE Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the Secretarial Help be reduced from $1,200.00 to $900.00, and Furniture and Fixtures from $300.00 to $150.00. Councilman Erler seconded the motion. Motion oarried. Councilman Niezgodski moved that the ordinance go to the Council favorable as amended. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 3716 (AMENDED) An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1950 for the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana. Councilman Niezgodski mooed that the ordinance go to the Council favorable as amended. Councilman Erler seconded the.motion. Motion carried. There -being no further business, Council adjourned at 7:50 P.M. STATE OF INDI�M ) S CITY OF SOUTH BEND ) CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING To the President, and members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indians► s Gentlement You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said Cit is hereby called to meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M., Central tandard T1*6, on Monday, August 29, 1949, the same being the last Monday in August 1949 as provided for by law, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following ordinances, to merit: "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1950, AND ENDING DECEMBER 319 1950, INCLUDING DEPART- MENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARR DEPARTMENTS,.FIREWN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN C OMMISSION: PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY "OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT ". ALSO "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1950 FOR THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA ". The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE .WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 29, 1949 Your Committee of the Whole to.whom was referred "An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1950 for the Municipal.City of South Bend, Indiana". Respectfully report that they have eaamtned the matter and that in their opinion the Street and Traffic Tax Levy should be amended to read as 90466, and the total for the Civil City to read as 1.4936 instead of 1.538, and that the ordinance be reported to the Council favorable as amended. _ STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of .6 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and Muszyneki). There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn the Special Meeting, which was seconded by Councilman Korpal.
