Council Chambers, on Tuesday, August 2nd, 1949, at 7s20 P.M. Central Standard Time, with all members present
except Councilman Korpal. President Erler presided.

CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING
To the President, and members of the Corn n Council of the City of South Bend, Indianas
Gentlemens
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in as as Mayor of the City of South
Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to most
in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the hour of 7sOO o'clock P.M. Central Standard Time, on Tuesday,
.August 2, 1949, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following ordinances, to -nits
"AN ORDINANCE APPRO7PRIATING MONEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING
THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET-OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
JANUARY 1, 1950, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1950, INCLUDING
DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS
APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE
GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -WITS STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARE
DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS#
AND THE CITY PLAN COMMISSIONs PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS
SHALL. INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIBATIONSs FIXING
THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEESs REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITHs
PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT."
ALSO
"AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1950 FOR THE
MM -CIPAL CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.'
The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this
notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return-of such service of said Special
Meeting.

The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion
that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for Public Hearing on August 29th. Councilman
Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carriod.

AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX BS1i FOR THE YEAR .1950 FOR
THE MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion
that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for Public Hearing on August 29th. Councilman
Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Rezgodski made a motion to adjourn the
Special Meeting, which was seconded by Councilman Glass. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at SsOO P.19
