HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-27-48 Council Meeting Minutes534 REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 27TH, 1948 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chamber, December 27th, 1948, at 8:10 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Tellson. President Niezgodski presided, The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. PET._ _ IT ION To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your petitioner respectfully shows to your Board that the following described real estate, to -wit: Lots 632 and 633 in Summit Place Third Addition to the City, of South Bend has heretofore been classified and zoned as "C" Commercial and "D" Height and Area District. Your petitioner respectfully requests that the said zoning be changed to Light Industrial and "F" Height and Area. That said real estate is numbered 2517 and 2521,West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, and lies just west of the Fruehauf Trailer Corporation property, which is classified as "Heavy Industrial`. REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY Members of the Common Council City Hall December 15, 1948 South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: Attached hereto please find copies of reports submitted by Mr. Qualls, Electrical Superintendent, on petitions for street lights at Parallel and Grant Streets_, Brookfield Street at the Railroad and Grant Street at the 'Railroad, Chapin and$herrill Streets, Parry Street and North Side Boulevard, Delaware and Carlisle Streets and Thirty -sixth Street and North Side Boulevard, The Board, upon Mr. Qlxalls recommendation, ordered the above lights installed. Mr. Qualls also informed the Board that street lights ordered in at Vine Street and Ironwood 'Drive,,Colle ge and F1a►ssnacht.,.Streets, Werwinski and Johnson Streets, Falcon and Huron Streets and Napoleon and Eddy Streets had all been installed and were now in service. ORDINANCE N0, 3682 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE OFFICIAL BOND OF NICHOLAS A. MUSZER, AS TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND AS BARRETT LAW FUND CUSTODIAN, BY THE CAPITOL INI)MTITY INSURANCE COMPANY, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, AS SURETY. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Kemper seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays. There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Councilman Erler. Motion carried, and Council adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
