Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South'Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers, City call, October 27th, 1947, at 7 :35 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Richardson. President -Brannan presided. The reading of the Minutes of. the previous meeting was waived. REPORT OF THE CITY CONTROLLER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, 1947. Balance on hand first of month ----------------------------------------------------- $1,529,413.42 Receipts during month -------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- 241;284.36 Disbursements----------------------------------------------- - - - - -- '6'22;286.15 Balance September 30th, 1947 ------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- 1,1489411.63 Councilman Niesgodski made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE ORDINE CE COMMITTEE October 27th, 1947. Your Committee has met and studied the Ordinance to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 2331, which would limit the leight of buildings and cancel permits already issued. Because of the legal involvements' contained therein and the importance of the subject matter and its effect upon the welfare of South "end, your Committee advises that it has not been able at this time to arrive at a definite position and requests further time in v+h.ich to report. . J. 0T. 11cCarthy Stanley C. Kosp al Councilman - Mirocha made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on November 10th, 1947, at 7 :30 P.11.. There was no second to the motion. Motion lost. The Ordinance Committee was granted another two weeks for further study of this Ordinance. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE VEOLE To The Common Council of the City of South Bend: October 27th, 1947. Your Committee of the Thole to whomw as referred an Ordinance transferring monies from b -251B repairs of bridges, Street Lepartment; To 5 -334, Other garage and motor supplies, Street Department, $500.00; from Sg251B, repairs to bridges, Street " epartment, To S -451, parts and equipment,, Street Department, '500.00; From S -12; Special Equipment Operators; Street Department; To S -331; Gasoline, Street Department- $1,000.00; From S -12, Special Equipment Operators, Street Department, To S -212, Postage, Street Department, $10.00, Declaring an emergency. Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall be reported to the Council as fa wrable. J. A. McCarthy, ACTING CHAIRMAN Councilman Bishop made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Heideman seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE' COMMI TTEE OF THE PROLE To The Common Council of the City of -South "end: October 27th, 1947. Your Committee of the 15hole to whom was referred an Ordinance transferring money from the General Fund of the City of South trend and appropriating 'said sum for the uses and purposes of the following budgetary item, to -wit: To N -38, General Supplies, Cemetery Department, #300.00 and Declaring an emergency. • Respectfully report that they have examined the-matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall be reported to the Council as favorable. Councilman Bishop made a.motion that the report be accepted. Lotion carried.
