Be it remembered that the Common Council of the-City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session,
in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Thursday, July 31st, 1947, at 7 :35 P.M., with all members
present except Councilmen McCarthy, Brannan and Niezgodski. Councilman Richardson presided in the
absence of the President Councilman Brannan.

MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
Gentlemen:
South Bend, Indiana.
July 31st, 1947.
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of
South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby
called to meet at the hour of 7 :30 P.M., on July 31st, 1947, in the Council Chambers for the purpose
of acting upon an Ordinance determining the tax levy, budget and salaries for the City of South Bend,
for the calendar year 1948.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on each and every member of
the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1948
FOR THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
The Ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Ordinance
be referred to the :Committee of the Whole for Public hearing on August 25th, 1947, at 7 :30 P.M.,
Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 7 :40 P.M.
