Council Chambers, City Hall, . April 14th, 1947, at 7 :35 P.M., with all members present except Councilman
Hull and McCarthy. President Brannan presided. The reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting was-.waived,
PETITION:
PETITION FOR THE RECLASSIFICATION OF REAL ESTATE AND
AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, 1EICH.SAID ORDINANCE IS MORE PARTICULARLY
KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 2331.
TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF SOUTEi BEND, INDIANA:
The undersigned, Drewrys Limited U.S.A. Inc. , an Indiana-corporation, being the owner of the following
described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County., Indiana, to -wit:
Beginning at a point that -is 480 feet East of the'West
boundary line of Section No 2., Township 37 North, Range 2"
East and 400 feet South of the South Line of Elwood Avenue;
thence East on a line parallel with the South line of said
Ellwood Avenue a distance of 495 feet; thence South on a
line parallel with the West boundary line of said Section No, 20
Township.37 North,: Range No, 2 East a distance of 321 feet; thence
West on a line parallel with-the South Line of said Elwood Avenue,
a distance of 495 feet; thence North to the place of beginnings
hereby respectfully petitions that their property be rezoned as a Class D. light industrial district and as
Class F height and area district so that said real estate will.be adaptable for the uses permitted by and
under -said use and height and area classification and subject to the restrictions pertaining thereto.
The undersigned desires and intemds to utilize said property, for purposes consistent with the classification
herein petitioned for.

Councilman-Bishop made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman
Korpal. seconded the motion.." Motion carried.

We, the undersigned property owners, petition your honorable body to instal-l-a street light
on the corner of Chapin Street and Ewing. •

Councilman Bishop made a motion that the petition be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety.

REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
To The Common Council of the City of South Bends
April 14, 1947
Your Committee of The 'Whole, to whom was referred an Ordinance transferring monies from the General Fund tf
the City of South Bend and appropriating said sums for the'uses and purposes of the following budgetary items,
to -witz To P221, Electric Service, Police Department, $300.00; To K7.12,.Other Structures, $200.00; and
transferring monies from the Street and Traffic Fund to the following Budgetary Item, to -wit: To 5262,
Miscellaneous Surgical Supplies, declaring an emergency.
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this Ordinance shall be
reported to the Council as favor able.

Gentlemen:
April 4th, 1947.
Petition of John Rensberger, et. al., for change of ,zoning classification of lots-1,2,3„4,5,6,,7,8,
Mikesells Add. was considred iby the City Plan Commission, at their regular meeting April 3, 1947.
The petitioner filed with the City Plan Commission an amendment to the petition asking that the charge
be made only for lots #1 and #2, Mikesells.
The change asked for in this petition is not recommended by the City Plan Commission.
Returned herewith are remonstrances as filed against the orkkinal petition and the amended petition.

Councilman Richardsonmade a motion that the report be read and studied by the members of the Council
and then referred to the Street and Alleys Committee for further study. Councilman Mirocha seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
