HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-07-46 Council Organizational Meeting Minutes411 JANUARY 7. 1946 Be it remembered that the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday- January 7th, 1946, ;"or the purpose of electing officers for the year 1946. Councilman John J. Mirocha, served as presiding officer. All members were present. The meeting convened at 7:30 P.M. Councilman Brannan, nominated Councilman Korpal for the presidency. Councilman lull seconded the motion. Councilman Hull, made a motion to close the nominations. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Councilman TFirocha instructed the Clerk to cast a. unanimous vote for Councilman Korpal as president. President Korpal presided at balance of meeting. Councilman Neizgodski nominated Councilman Hull for the vice presidency. Councilman Brannan seconded the nomi- nation. Councilman McCarthy made a motion to close the nominations. Councilman Heideman seconded the motion. Iiotion carried. Nominations closed. Councilman Hull elected vice president. Councilman Brannan nominated Mayor Dempsey as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
