HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-27-45 Council Meeting MinutesBe it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Lend, met in the Council Chambers, City call, Monday, August 27th, 1945, at 10 :40 P.M., with all members present. President Mirocha presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. PETITION 11te, the undersigned owners in fee of the real estate situated on the South Side of Lincoln 'gay West in the City of South Lend, in the 1400 block thereof, and between Lawndale and Sancome Avenues, respectfully petition your Honorable Body for an amendment to the existing Building Code of the said City, to provide for a change of said Code as follows: 1HEREAS, said area designated is now "B" residential and "A" height and area, it is the desire of, the under- signed comprising more than 50% of the owners of the frontage on the south side of said block to change said residential and height and area district as it effects said south side of said block to "C" Commerical and "D" height and area. (4 signers) '!.Motion was made by Councilman Brannan and seconded by Councilman Korp al, that the petition be referred to the Zoning Board. lAotion carried. Councilman Brannan made a motion that the report be accepted as read. Councilman Nierdgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Ordinance was given third reading and lost by a roll call vote of 3 ayes - 6 nays . Councilman Bishop made a motion to reconsider the action that was just taken in regard to the Tax Levy Ordinance. Seconded by Councilman Niezgodski. Motion carried. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Hospital Fund be set back to 1 ct. Seconded by Councilman NiezGodski, and passed as amended by a roll call of 6 ayes - 3 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 3534.
