Fresident sirocha presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. COMMUNICATION A communication from L. M. Coffman, Box 2537 "A ", South Bend, with regard to house - holders using the alleys for dumping junk of all descriptions, was read end upon motion of Councilman Richardson, seconded by Councilman Korpal, it was ordered placed on file. A copy of a letter from Ernest H. Miller, City Traffic Engineer, to the Board of forks and Safety, City of South Bend, regarding the installation of a traffic light at the corner of Mishawaka Avenue and Twyckenham Drive, was read was ordered placed on file on motion af:Councilman Richardson, seconded by Counclman Korpal. A copy of a letter from Ernest H. Miller, City Traffic Engineer, to Mr, W. A. Underwood, Superintendent of Ways and Construction, South Shore Railroad Company, Michigan City, Indiana, was read and upon motion of Councilman Heideman, seconded by Councilman Korpal, it: -was ordered placed on file. Motion carriedy AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL COMF E11SATION r T THE RATE OF $1,200.00 EACH PER YEAR TO BE PAID FROM THE FUNDS OF THE 7,ATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH ;SEND, INDIANA, TO THE FOLLOMING OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, TO -WIT: THE MAYOR , CITY ATTORi4EY, CITY ENGINEER, CITY CONTROLLER AND CITY CLERK: AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THEE. PROPER OFFICERS OF SAID CITY TO MAKE SUCH PAYMENTS FROM AND AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE: DECLARING AN LMERGENCY The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 5 ayes - 0 nays - 4 absent - (Brannan, Hull, Niezgodski, Bishop) ORDINANCE NO. 3532 AN ORD FNANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIMA, 7tUTHOUT AN APPRAIS1MENT: AUTHORIZING. THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, Wi TROUT ANT APPRAI SB ENT . The Ordinance ::as given first and second. reading. Councilman McCarthy made a motion for the suspension of rules. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a .roll call vote of 5 ayes - 0 nays - 4 absent (Brannan, Bull, iiezgodski and Bishop) The Ordinance was given third reading and- passed by a roll call vote of 5 ayes - 0 nayfs - 4 absent (Brannan, Hull, 4iezgcds1ci and Bishop} There being no further business, Council adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
