Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council _Chambers,
City Hall, on Monday, February 26, 1945, with all members present except Councilman Heideman. President Mirocha
presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
A communication from the local branch of the N.A.A. C.P. was read and ordered placed on file on motion of Councilman
McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Niez odski. '

Councilman Bishop.made a motion to accept the report.

Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Potion carried.
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CONTRACT TIDE AND ENTERED INTO BY ANDY BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND THE SEAGRAVE CORPORATION FOR
THE PURCHASE BY SAID CITY AND THE SALE TO IT BY THE SAID 'CORPORATION; OF ONE iCANOPY CAB TYPE PUMP-
ING ENTGINTE FOR $10,600.00.
The ordinance was_ given first and second reading. Councilman Richardson made a motion for the suspension of rules.
Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Heideman)
The ordinance was given third reading and passed by roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays - 1 absent (Heideman).
ORDINTANCE
AN ORDINANCE TF.ANSFERRING $1732.32 FROTH THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO
BUDGETARY ITEM V -11, A'AGES AND SALARIES IN THE BUDGET OF THE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1945; APPROPRIATING SAID SUMS FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES OF
SAID BUDGETARY ITEM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion to set the ordinance for public
hearing on March 12. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
