Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in regular session in the Council Ghambers,
City Hall, on Monday,January,22, 1945 with all members present except Councilmen Hull and Bishop. President 'Mliroc
presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
REPORT OF THE CC -LMITTEE OF THE 7: TOLE
Jan. 22, 1945
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance amending Ordinance #2331-of the City of South Bend,
Indiana and commonly known as the Zanng Ordinance"
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported
favorably.

Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to accept the report. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 3516

AND COMMONLY KNO1.AgT AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE. (Lots "Y" and "Z" in Elder Place Addition) .
The ordinance was riven third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Hull and Bishop)
ORDINANCE NO._3517
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC VvORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; TO SELL CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY.
The ordinance was given first and second reading. Councilman Richardson made a motion for suspension of rules.
Councilman.Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Hull and
Bishop). The ordinance was given third reading and passed by roll call vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent (Hull
and Bishop).*.
Councilman Richardson made a motion that the Board of Safety be instructed to contact the local bus company regard-
ing the bus se?'vice in Southmoor Heights addition. In case of snow interfering with regular service, bus company
is to be instructed to clear roadway. Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. Motioncarried.
Councilman McCarthy made a motion that the Streets, Alleys and Bridges committee shall check the equipment of the
Street Department in order that the information may be available for budget purposes. Councilman Korpal seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8 :05 P.M.
