Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, on Monday:,, January 8, 1945 with only President - Nietgodski':present.
President Niezgodski noted the absence of a quorum and recessed the meeting until Tuesday, January 9, 1945 at 7 :30
P.M., all members to be notified of said meeting and effort to be made for a quorum to be present at that time.

ORGANIZATION MEETING JANUARY 9, 1945
Be it remembered that the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the 'Council
Chambers, City Hall, on Tuesday, January 9, 1945, for the purpose of electing officers for the year 1942. Mayor
Jesse I. Pavey served as presiding officer. All members were present except Councilman Brannan. The meeting conv
at 7 :30 P.M.
Councilmap Korpal nominated Councilman Mirocha for the presidency. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion.
Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to close the hominations. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Mayor Pavey
Announced a unanimous vote for Councilman 1irocha as president. President Mirocha presided at balance of meeting.
Councilman-Bishop nominated Councilman Hull for the vice presidency. Councilman Heideman seconded the nomination.
Councilman Heideman made a motion to close the nominations. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Nominationslelosed. Councilman Hull elected vice president.
Councilman Richardson nominated Mayor Pavey as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Councilman Korpal seconded the
nomination. Mayor Pavey elected Chairman of Finance Committee by unanimous consent.
Meeting adjourned at 7:40 P.M.

Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in a recessed session on Tuesday,
January 9, 1945 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, at 7 :45 P.M. with all members present except Councilman Brann
President Mirocha presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was deferred.
Acknowledgment was made cf a "thank .you" card from the Carl Castleman family.

Commission at their regular meeting Jan. 4th and this change is approved and recommended.
