certain funds from the Street & Traffic Fund to certain accounts in the budget of the Street Department of the
City, as follows:;

The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Mirocha made a motion that the 310,000 salary item covering the
salaries for field engineer, 2 rodmeh, and instrument man be stricken from the engineering department budget.
Councilman Brannan seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 5 ayes (Niezgodski, Brannan, Korpal,
Richardson and Mirocha) - 4 nays (Hull, Bishop, McCarthy and Heideman). The ordinance was passed by a roll call vote
of 6 ayes (Niezgodski, Brannan, Korpal,'Richardson, McCarthy and Mirocha) 3 nays (Hull, Bishop and Heideman).

The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman McCarthy made the following motions: Motion to amend item in
Department of Board of Public Works and Safety - Garbage Collection - by reducing to $46,416.00, reducing total of
Contractual Services from $157,201.00 to $155,991.00:: And that item of $7,000.00 - Repair of Bridges - be stricken
from budget of Department of Board of 'Works and Safety - reducing total of Contractual Services to 4148,991.00:
Reduce item of Civilian Defense to $1,000.00, reducing total of Current Charges to $2,000.00, making total of
Department - $162,964.33. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motions carried by vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays.
Councilman Mirocha made a motion that items in Services - Personal in Engineering Department budget, covering Field
Engineer, two Rodmen and Instrument Man, in sum of $10,000, be transferred to item entitled Post 'War Planning, Re-,
search and Engineering in the office of Controller, and stricken from Engineering Department budget. Councilman
Brannan seconded the motion. Motion carried by 9� =.ayes - 0 nays.
The ordinance was passed as amended by a roll call, vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays.
ORDINANCE NO. 3501 (as amended)
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1945 for the MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman McCarthy made a motion to reduce item of General Fund to .54; item
of Park Maintenance to .08; item Bond Fund to .30; total tax levy $1.034. Councilman Mirocha seconded the motion.
Motion carried. The ordinance was passed as amended by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays.
