HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-26-44 Council Meeting Minutes3 6'1 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, June 26, 1944, with all members present except Councilmen Mirocha and McCarthy. President Niezgodski presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. A communication in the form of a resolution, by the South Bend C. I. 0. Council, relative to the sanitary conditions in local restaurants, was read. Councilman Richardson made a motion to notify the C.I.O. Council that an ordinance governing the situation.had been passed on March 27. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE 001WITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: June 26, 1944 Your Committee of the 11hole to whomwas r effered "An ordinance transferring the amount of $3500 fromthe general fund of the City of South Bend, to Budgetary Account #P721 - Motor Equipment of the Police Department of the City of South Bend; Appropriating the said fund for the uses of said account, declaring an emergency." Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion said ordinance should be reported as favorable. W. J. RICHARTDSON, Chairman Councilman Richardson made a motion to accept the report. Councilman Heideman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 3487 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE AMOUNT OF THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($3,550.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO BUDGETARY ACCOUNT NO. P721- -MOTOR EQUIRIENT OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOU_ TH BEND: APPROPRIATING THE SAID FUND FOR THE USES OF SAID ACCOUNT: DECLARING AN WERGENCY. ordinance was given third reading and passed by a vote of 7 ayes - 0 nays - 2 absent. City Attorney Levy notified the Council that he would report on the bus situation a t the next meeting. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Park Department be notified to trim the trees on city property. Councilman Brannan seconded the motion.
