Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, February 14, 1944 at 7 :30 P.M. with all members present except Councilman Brannan.
President Niezgodski presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
A. communication from Mayor J. I. Pavey, urging.the adoption of a City Restaurant Ordinance, was read by the Clerk
and ordered placed on "file on motion of Councilman Heideman, seconded by Councilman Richardson.
The annual report of the City Clerk was given and ordered placed on file on motion of Councilman Richardson, secon
by Councilman Korpal.
The report of the City Controller for the month of January, 1944, was read and ordered placed on file -on motion of
Councilman Bishop, seconded by Councilman Richardson.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE TRAYSFERRII%TG CERTAIN FUNDS FRQM THE UNAPPROPI'RATED SURPLUS IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC
FUND TO ACCOUNT NO. S54 OF THE BUDGET OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT OF SOUTH BEND: APPROPRIATING SAID
FUNDS FOR THE USES OF SAID ACCOUNT: DECLARING AN RAERGEYCY.
The ordinance was given first and second.readings. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the ordinance be referred
to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on February 28. Councilman Mirocha seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
TO BUDGETARY ACCOUNT NO. H251B IN THE BUDGET OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF SAID CITY:
APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS FOR THE USES ANDPURPOSES OF SAID ACCOUNT: DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The ordinance was given first and second readings. On motion of Councilman McCarthy ordinance was ireferred to the
Committee of the Whole for. public hearing on February 28. Councilman Bishop seconded.the motion. Motion carried.
There being.no further business, Council adjourned at 8:02 P.M.
