it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council
ambers, City Mall, Monday, November 14, 1942, with all members present except Councilman Pulaski. Vice - President
11 presided. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
REPORT OF THE CU- MITTEE OF THE WHOLE
To the Comaron Council of the City of South Bend:
December 14, 1942
Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An ordinance reducing item Q17 of the budget of the City'of South
Bend, Indiana, for the year 1943 be the amount of $4500.00, transferring the amount of $4500.00 from the general fu:
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, to the budgetary item Z17 of said city for the year 1942 and appropriating said
amount for thepu rchase of fire hose; approving the purchase of 3800 feet of fire hose from the Bi- Lateral Fire Hose
Company; declaring an emergency."
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter.and that in their opinion this ordinance shall be reported to
the Council favorably.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO BE MADE TO CITY EMPLOYEES
, the City of South .Bend is approaching the close of its fiscal year; And,
WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous and c
plicated accounts; and
EREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified when possible,
, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
SECTION 1. That all employees of the city shall be paid their salaries in full for the month of December on the 1
day of said month.
CTION II. The Controller of the City of South Bend, is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said
te.
ECTION III. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
is approval by the Mayor.
