HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-04-42 Council Organizational Meeting Minutes296 Be it remembered that the members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana „met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday, January 5, 1942, at 7 :30 P.M. for the purpose of electing officers for the year 1942. All members were present and Mayor Pavey asked for nominations for the presidency. Councilman Richardson nominated Councilman Pulaski for the presidency._ Councilman McCarthy seconded the nomination. Councilman Jordan made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Pulaski elected president of the Council by a unanimous vote. Councilman McCarthy made a motion that George Hull be nominated for the vice presidency. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the nominations be closed. Councilman McCarthy seconded the motion. Nominations closed. Councilman Hull elected Vice president of the Common Council. STANDING COMMITTEES FOR 1942 William F.
