COMMUNICATIONS.
South 16end, Indiana.
August 26, 1939•
TO members of Council: —
Will your please try to reduce our taxes or keep them where they are, for
this year, as we --took a big raise in taxes last year, and now -you want to raise again this year.
What is the use to try Pnd buy a home, and then have the taxes so high you can't pay them, if we
can't pay them, you sell our property ?nd so re loose all that we have paid in our home all these
years.
Now if Misheraka can get their taxes cut why can't re, we surely have just as good men working on
our tax boards as they have, ^nd we do hope that you rill think of all the working people who are
trying to pay fot their own home and have a herd time making their payments and paying their taxe
and. upkeep of their home.
Out down on your budget if you h:,ve to ^nd keep our tax r;-te where it is, as its high enough for
the rages we are eprning tod^y.
Yours truly,
(15 signers) Tax Payers of South bend.
