Be it remembered. that the Common Council met in the Snecial Session in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, Monday evening, April 3, at 7 :55 P.M. All members were present. President
McCarthy presided.

CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CO ?f VON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
'ate, the undersigned members of the City Council of the City of South Bend, do hereby exercise
our power and authorize a special meeting of the City Council immedi�l.tely following; the Commit-
tee of the Whole meeting, April 3, 1G39, for the purpose of transferring $1490.00 from the
Contingency Fund to the City Treasurer as an emergency to take care of additional clerical
expense for the correcting of tabulation of Barrett Law Bonds.

RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $1,490 FRO ?4 THE CTITIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND CONTINGENCY FUND TO CLERK HIRI
IN BARRETT LAT DEPARTMENT.
INHERFAS: The City of South Bend can save a tremendous amount of,interest if they are able to
determine as soon a.spossible how funds shall be allocated and stop interest on $600,000 at six
per cent, and
WHEREAS, The hiring of additional clerks will speed up the audit,
THEREFORE, be it resolved that we, the common council of the City of South Bend hereby transfe
and allocate from funds already in the contingency fund in the sum of $1,490 for six additiona
clerks and to pay those clerks now employed in the Barrett law department.
