ORDINANCE NO. 3273
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUIT OF ELEVEN THOUSAND AND SIX HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($11,600.00) FROM THE FUNDS TO BE RECEIVED FROM THE AUDITOR OF
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY UNDER ORDER OF THE PORTAGE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE FOR FUNDS
TO BE SUPPLIED TO ASSIST THE MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND IN THE SPON-
SORING OF PROJECTS PURSUANT TO AN AGREVIENT FILED WITH THIS BODY ENTERED
.INTO BY'AN AND BETINEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS AND THE PORTAGE
TOnJ SHIP TRUSTEE AND TO ' BE A FUND KNOWN AS ACCOUNT #712 - A.
BE IT -ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNSEL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION_1.- That the sum of Eleven Thousand: and Six Hundred Dollars ($11,600.00)
be, and the -pme is hereby appropriated from a special fund to be created and known as
Account #712 -A Park Maintenance Fund of the Municipal City of South Bend for the purchase
of materials, equipment, truck hire snd. other supplies necessary to ?3r ovide additional fund;
for the sponsor's share of "York's Progress Administration Projects.
SECTION 11 - It is expressly stipulated and agreed i.n this ordinance that the
funds for this appropriation shall :be subject to nr%ilimited tq the amount provided by
monies received by the City Controller of the City of South Bend from the Auditor of St.
Joseph County by virtue of funds paid for the employment of men t ^ken from the relief
rolls of Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana,rhich funds are to be provided on
order of the Portrnge Township - Trustee directed to the Auditor of St. Joseph County in
conformity arith .a tritten a gr.eement entered into by and between the Trustee of Portage
Township and the Department of Public Parks of the Municipal City of South Bend under
date of January 16th, 1939, 2nd approved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend
under date of January 16th, 19�q; the amount set forth in this ordinance being the esti-
mated amount to be received during a period of twelve (12) months from the date of the
introduction of this ordinance and the purchase of materials, equipmont and othersapplies
necessary #o furnish the sponsor's share of said project in contemplation of the.terms
of said agreement sha11 be in line with the amount of money so received by the Controller
of the City of South Bend from the Auditor of St. Joseph County in accordance with-'the
terms of the agreement referred to above.
SECTION 111 - This ordinance shall he in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval of the Mpyor, legal publication and approval by the State Tax Board..

Councilmen Hull made 2 motion to suspend the fules. Councilman Jordon seconded the motic
Motion c arried.The Ordina=nce was given a third reading by title.
Councilman Hull made a motion for the ;adoption of the Ordinance. Councilman Bishop
seconded the motion. Motion was carried. Ordinance orRs adopted by a unanimous vote.
Mr. Levis asked for the consideration of Ordinance #3 ?45 by Ordinance Committee. Council
men Richardson m-de a motion th^tthe ordinance be referred -to the Ordinance Committee.
Councilman Bishop seconded the motion. The motion wrs accepted by following vote:
McCarthy, Brannon, Jordan, Richardson, Niezgodski, Bishop, Heideman, Pulaski - Ayes.
Hull - Nay. Ayes - 1 Neyes.
Councilman Pulaski moved that the meeting be adjourned. Councilman Richardson seconded
the motion. The Council adjourned 2t 8 :15 P.M.
