M. All members were present. President Hull presided. :STATE OF INDIANA ) CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ) SS: CITY OF SOUTH BEND ) COMMON COUNCIL TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COY-MON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: You tare hereby gotified thPt under and by virtue of the authority by law vested in me as Mayor :)f the City of oath Bend, of the State of Indiana, a. Special meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. or as soon thereafter as I-onvenient, on Tuesday evening, August 30th, 1939, for the purpose of considering the following: ORDINANCE NO. 3254 "An Ordinance appropriEti.ng moneys for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Park Department of the City Government of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1939, and ending December 31, 1939, including all outstanding claims and obligations, and fixing e. time when the same shall take effect." Also ORDINANCE NO. 3255 "An Ordinance appropriatin moneys for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the several departments of the City Government of the City of mouth Bend,,Indiena, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1939, and ending December 31, 1939, including all out- stending claims and obligations and fixing a time when the same shall take effect." Also ORDINANCE NO. 3256 "An Ordinance fixing a tex levy for the yeer 1939, for the Mun- icipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana." Dated this 30th day of August, 1939, A. D. Geor a W. Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion should be reported favorably as amended. Geo. W. Goetz, Chairman. ORDINANCE NO. 3255 es amended An Ordinance approprie.ting moneys for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the several de- partments of the City Government of the City of South Bend, Indiana, for the fiscal year )aeg1nn- ing January 1, 1939, and ending December 31, 1939, including t1l outstanding claims and obliga- tions, end fixing a time when the seme shall take effect. The ordinance was given its third reading by title and placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote: Hull, Goetz, Bierwegen, James, Kerner, Fish, Chambers, Rasmussen end Palicki. 9 eyes. 0 nays. Ordinance adopted as amended. ORDINANCE NO._ 3256 as emended An Ordinance fixing the tax levy for the year 1939 for the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Ipd iana . _ The Ordinance was given its third reeding by title and placed upon its -passage and parsed by the following vote: Hull, Goetz, Kerner, Chambers and Resmussen 5 ayes. Bierwagen, James Fish end PalickI - 4 nsys. Ordinance adopted as amended. There =being no further business Councilman Chambers moved to adjounh. ed the motion. Motion carried.
