We, the undersigned, do petition the authorities of South Bend, Indinnn, to take some steps
_to eliminate the dirt and filth caused by the chimmeys of the United States Gypsum Co. of
1702 So. Franklin St., 'South Bend, Ind. which is detrimental to health and destructive to
property in this vicinity.

CEMETERY DEPARTMENT REPORT
Report for the months of January, February and March of 1938 were read.
Councilman Fish moved that said report be accepted and ple.ced on file. Councilmen Kerner second-
ed the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 3 247
An Ord n Rnce relating to and regulating the business or occupation of ba.rbering'end the conduct
of the barber shoes in the City of South Bend, Indiana; perscribing the rules and regulations
for conduct of the same; and providing penalties for the violation hereof.
Tee ordinance was given its first reading by title, and its second reading in full and on
motion of Councilmen Goetz wes referred to the Ordinance Committee. Councilman Fish seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION:
R E S O L U T I O N
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACTION OF THE BOARD OF PPR K COMMISSIONERS
IN ACCEPTING A DEED FROM CLARENCE•PERKINS AND WIFE TO THE
-SAID PARK COMMISSION.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, IndiC.na:
That this body approves the action of the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of South
Bend in'sccepti.ng a certein dded from Clarence Perkins and wife under date of April 19, 1938,
covering siIid described real estate to the said Board•of Park Commissioners for the said
Municipal City of South Bend, copy of which dried is filed herewith, made a part hereof and
marked Exhibit "A-" for purpose of identification, and that the proper officials of said Park

Department and said Civil-City of South Bend should take such steps as may be necessary to
carry out the intent and purpose of said acquisition of said real - estate, being the understand-
ing of this body that said property is accepted by said `ark Depa,rttaent for the purpose of con-
structing and erecting a. pley- ground at Rum Village for said area., and that funds allocated in
the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) in'the 193E budget will be used to equip such play
ground on the area acquired by said deed together with the area now owned by said Park Depart-
ment, and that this Council hereby expressly approves rind ratifies said action of the Perk De-
partment in receiving said deed, subject to the lien .set out In the,instrument referred to as
Exhibit

There being'no .further business Councilman Fish moved to adjourn. Councilman Bierwagen second-
ed the motion. Motion carried. Council adjourned at 5 :30 P. M.
