CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING

You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority by law vested in mns as Mayor
of the City of South Bend, of the State of Indiana, a special meeting of the Com -non Council
of said City is hereby called to be held at the hour of =:7 :30 P. M., or as soon thereafter as
convenient, on Mnonda.y evening March 7th, 1 935, in the Council Chambers of said Citv, for
the purpose of considering the following resolution, towwit:

RESOLUTION rMPOWERIT•'G THE BOARD OF PARK CO'JITISSIONE`'S OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO USE PART OF
THE TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000.00) APPROPRIATED FOR CONSTRUCTION AND EMPROVEIVENT OF RUM
VILLAGE TO PTTRCHASE ADDITIONAL LAND AND APPLY THE BALANCE TO THE IMPROVDTENT AND 007STRUCTION
OF PLAYGROUND APPARATUS CUT OF THE 11TONIES APPROPRIATED TY THE 1935 BUDGET.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of theCity of South Bend thrt:
WHEREAS, by the wording of the ordinpnce the Council appropriated Ten Thousand Dollnrs
010,000.00) for ?N. P, A. construction end improvement of Rum 'V'illage there appears to be a
necessity of the interpretation of the meaning of the foregoing language, and
WHEREAS, in the territory adjoining Rum Village there is a strip of land on which the Prrk
Board has an option to purchese, which option expires March 15, 1935, and
WHEREAS, it is the sense of said Park Board and of this body that said land, if so acquired
will make better available land. for improvement as a. playground, end that said land can be
purchased on land contract and with r p,:rt of the Ten Thousend Lo11r_;rs (410,000.00) npnr^ printed
in the 1935 Budget, and
;GHERFAS, there will be sufficient left to improve and construct playground equipment on said
ar?a for said Rum Villnp•e Project, end
WHER?±AS, it is the sersn of the Park Bo=ard and also the. sense of this body that said purchase

ngotion.
Councilmen Goetz moved to amend Councilmen Chambers' moticn that proposition be submitted to
the committee of the a:nole for March 21st, and. that the residence be well represented.
Councilmen Bierwrnpen seconded, the motion. 'Voticn cn- rried.
There being no furt"^er business Councilw,,n Kerner moved to edjo-arn. Councilman Goetz seconded
