SEPTEMBER 13th, 1937
MINUTES
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend. Indiana, met in the
regular session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening, September 13th, 19] 7,
at the hour of 9 :10 P. M. All members were present except Councilmen Goetz and James. Prealdtnt
Fish presided. Councilmen Bull moved to dispense- with the-reading of the minutes for the last
meeting. Councilman Rasmussen seconded the motion. Motinn carried.

County, Indiana, in the metter of edditionel appropriations in the amount of #1,600.00;
and;
This matter having been set for hearing on September let, at 9:45 A.I., report having been
made, and all the facts having been carefully considered, this board does now affirm said
additional appropriations in an amount not to exceed the sum of $1,560.00, as follows:
Ordina a No. 3222 in the sum of $1,500.00 .and
Ordinance No. 3229 in the sum of $100.00, is reduced to $60.00..

That the South 36 feet of Lot #7 be chap #ed from B residence and B Height and area. districts
to C, commercial end F Height end area districts; and that all of the residue of Lot #6 ex-
cepting the south 36 feet thereof be changed from C, commercial and F Height and area districts
to B residence and B Height and area districts.

Councilman Kerner moved that said pAtion be referred to the Zoning Commission. Councilmen
Rasmussen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
REPORT
The Street Commissioners report of the work done by his departments during the month of July
and August, 1937•
Councilman Rasmussen moved that said reports be placed on file. Councilman Kerner seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
The report of Master Plan for the City of South Bend, Indiana wqs presented.
Councilman Hull moved that said report be referred t.o the Committee of the Whole for September
20th, 1937. Councilman Chembei•s seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 3209 as amended
An Ordinance revising, amend, restating end codifying all existing ordinances with re-
ference to a Plumbing Code for the City of South Bend, Indiana., and providing for all matters
concerning Plumbing, Building, Drainage, and Building Ventilating and water supply and gas
piptng insofar as they effect the plumbing and buildi rig . drainage and sanitation in all buildings
erected or to be erected in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and esteblishingan examining board
a chief plumbing inspector and deputies and plecing all under the jurisdiction of the board of
Public Health of the City of South Bend.
The Ordinance was given its third reeding by title, and was placed upon its passage end
passed by the following vote: Hull, Bierwagen, Kerner, Chambers, Rasmussen end Palickiv6 ayes.
Fish - 1 nay. Ordinance adopted.
ORDINANCE NO. 3230
An Ordinance appropriating Five Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars ($525.00) from the General Fund
of the -City of South Bend, Three Hundred Dollars of same to account -? -19 in the Police Depa.rtmen
for General Supplies, Twenty- Five Dollars ($25.00) to Account N -7A in the Cemetery Department for
Gasoline and two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). to the special Judge Account of the City Judge's
Office, Account E -5.
The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on
motion of Councilman Hull was referred to the Committee of the Whole elnd -also that a public hear-
ing be held on September 27th, 1937. Councilmen RE- smussen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE N0. 3231
An Ordinance regulating the operation of Taxicabs amending certain °ections of Ordinance
#2979 •
The Ordinance was given its firstiread:ing by title, its second reading in full and on
moti ^n of Councilman Resmussen wee referred to the Traffic Committee for consideration-and that
they report back to the council. Councilman Chambers seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Mr. Kopi"ki extended an invitation to the Honorable council to attend the celebration of the
150th annlitere ary of, the adoption of the American Constitutt6n -eto be held September 19th, 1937
at Bendix Park at 2 :00 P. M. �
There being no further business, Councilman Hull moved to adjourn. Councilman Chambers seconded-'.
