nt the hour of 9:15 P. M. All members were present. President Fish presided. 'Council egreed
to dispense with the reading of the minutes for the last few meetings.

A petition having been filed by the proper legal officials of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph
County, Indianb, in the matter of additiona, ar_proprietions, in the amount of $1,750.00,
And this matter having been set for hearing on June 2nd, 1937 at 10 A. M., e report having
been made, and all the facts having been carefully considered, this Board (Commissioner Benjamin
not participating) does now affirm said additional appropriation in the amount of One Thousand
six hundred Dollars ($1,600.00), as follows:

Councilman Hull moved said be placed on file. Councilmen Rasmussen seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Mr. Hunter suggested. that the'cminoil.'c- divide the budget into groups for a hearing on certain
nights.
Councilman James moved that the finance committee a.rrpnge to start on the budget the first and
second week in August, and not have more th:n three nights a week. Salary ordrence to be
taken up at this time too. Councilman Chambers seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilmen James moved to amend motion to read that the council meet on the 4th, 5th, and 6th
of the first week in August for the budget heari.rg. Monday, Tuesday and Thursdpy of the Second
?seek it August. Councilman Chambers seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Jemes moved that the City Controller be requested to bring in en Ord n' snce covering
$1100 for additional clerks for the City Treasurer. Councilmen Goetz seco °,ded the motion.

Counci ?.man Goetz moved thet said complaint be referred to the Board of :Safety. Councilman
Bierwagen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Councilman Hull moved to adjourn. Councilman Chambers seconded
the motion. Motion carried. Council adjourned at 9:00 P. M.
