ENSHRINEMENT FESTIVAL CONCERT
ANNOUNCED
COUNTRY MUSIC LEGEND, TRAVIS TRITT, SET TO PERFORM AT THIS YEAR'S
ENSHRINEMENT FESTIVAL CONCERT.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - May 16, 2008 - The College Football Hall of Fame is pleased to welcome
Travis Tritt to South Bend. Tritt will be performing Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Morris
Performing Arts Center, as part of the expanding Enshrinement Festival.
"We are pleased to partner with the Morris Performing Arts Center as we expand the 2008
Enshrinement schedule," said Hall of Fame Executive Director Lisa Malin. "We look forward to
welcoming country music super -star, Travis Tritt, to South Bend as well as thousands of football
and country music fans from across the country.
Travis Tritt has charted more than 30 singles on the U.S. BillBoard "Hot Country Songs" charts,
including 5 which went to No. 1. He debuted with his single release of "Country Club" in 1989
and emerged on the country scene with a mix of bluesy Southern rock. Travis received 2 Grammy
awards for Best Country Vocal Collaboration for "The Whiskey Ain't Workin "' a duet with Marty
Stuart in 1992 and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for "Same Old Train" with more than
10 country music artists in 1998.
In addition, he is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and received the Horizon Award from the
Country Music Association in 1991, Vocal Event of the Year award in 1992 for "This One's
Gonna Hurt You (For A Long, Long Time)" a duet with Marty Stuart; and in 1993 for "I Don't
Need Your Rockin' Chair." With top hits like "Tell Me I was Dreaming," "Here's a Quarter," and
"T- R- O- U- B -L -E."
More recently, Tritt co- produced an album called "The Storm" with American Idol judge Randy
Jackson. Tritt and Jackson teamed up to create a powerhouse collection of songs that emphasize
the irresistible soul side of Tritt's singing.
The Morris Performing Arts Center, located in the heart of downtown South Bend is the home of
the Broadway Theatre League, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, and the Southold Dance
