M. All Members present except Councilmen Nelson and Rokop, i. Vice-President _ presided. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and on Motion of councilman Null were acce ted as read. DeHaven the duly elected County - Treasurer and Ex- officio City Treasurer of the City of.South Bend, Indiana, St. Joseph on November 6tNAM4 for the term -of two years beginning January 1st, 1935, in the sum of 175,000.00 as 4�d the United'States'Fidelity and Guaranty Company ,- _Baltimore, Maryland as Surety. Said Bond was duly signed by John F. DeHaven and The United States-Fidelity and-Guaranty-Company b of Baltim Maryland, by their Attorney -in-fact-on November -21st, 1934 and was; duly acknowledged by said Company by t Louis W. Witte, their Attorney -in -fact before Elizabeth Hughes, a Notary Public i and for the County of Marion, .State of Indiana. On Motion of Councilman Hull the Bond was accepted by the Council. Motion carried. OFFICIAL BOND OF JOHN F..DEHAVEN. The Official Bond of John F DeHaven the duly elected Exiofficiot City Treasurer on the G election of November 6th, 1934, for a term of two years beginning January lst, 1935 , as in th sum of $100,000.00 as principal and the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, Baltimore Maryland, as surety,. Said bond is to-cover only Barrett Law funds handled by the said John F. DeHaven and is not to x cover the general funds handled by him., said funds being covered by a separate bond. Said bond being signed on the 30th day of November, 1934 by John F. DeHaven and t1ye United States. Fidelty and Guaranty Company,by Louis W.' Witte, its Attorney -in -fact and was duly Acknowledge by Louis W. Witte, Attorney -in -fact baftxs 6n November 30th, 1934 before 12izabeth Hughes, Notary Public in and for Maraion Counety, State of Indiana. An Ordinance appropriating certain Funds from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana,to the Department of Public Health and The City af Clerk's Department. The.Ovdinance was given its third reading bybtitle, and was placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote :. Whiteman, Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, A Brennan, Oakley, Fiwek, Cripe and Gustin, Ayes 9, Nays 0. Ordinance adopted. ORDINANCE- N0. An Ordinance Prohibiting the Scattering of advertising Matter on Public and Private Grounds and Buildings of the City of South Bend, Indiana, providing for a License Fee for the Delivery and Distribution of advertising Matter and other articles within the City, providing a penalty and Repealing Ordinance No. 1056 adopted July k, 1901 also being known as Sections 150 and 151 of Ordinance No. 1927 printed in Book Form and adopted_ February 14-, 1916. The Ordinance was given its.first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman I Cripe was referred to the- Committee on Ordinances to report back to the Committee of the E Whole. Motion carried. Councilman Cripe next states: that he is not convinced yet concerning the payment of additional salariea..t from the Track Elevation Fund.to William S. Moore, City Engineer and Miss Hazel A. Turner, Clerk of the Board of Public 'forks, and after a few remarks, makes an oral motion:mthat he would like to go on record as being opposed to the method in which the Board of Public Works used in paying out this money, Xxx Councilman Hull seconds said Motion as being in-favor of the Council going on record.
