Be it Remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Regular Session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening May 14th, 1934 at the hour of 7:50 o'clock P. M. All Members 'present except Councilman Nelson, Whiteman and Hiss. Vice- President N Grzeskowiak presided. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and on Motion of Councilman Hull were accepted as read . Motion carried. To_the Common Council of the City of South Bend; Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance Transferring Funds from one* Sub- division to another Sub - Division in the Department of Finance. Respectfully report that they-have examined_ the matter and that in their opinion the said Ordinance should be reported favorable: :�{{ Jno. C. Hiss, Chairman. The reportbwas accepted by the Council. ORDINANCE N0. 3056. An Ordinance Transferring Funds from one Sub - Division to another SubDivision in-the Departn of Finance. The Ordinance was given its third reading by title, and was placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote; - Rokop, Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, Altfeld, Oakley, Grzeskowiak, Gripe and Gustin, Ayes_9, Nays 0. Ordinance adopted. ORDINANCE NO. 3057. An Ordinance Transferring the sum of Twelve Thousand Three Hundred Thirty -Five Dollars and Seventy =-Four Cents ($12,335.74) from the Department of Aviation to the General Fund mf the the City of South Bend. The Ordinance was given its third read by title, and was.placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote; Rokop,. Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, Altfelds-Mis Oakley, Grzeskowiak, Gripe and Gustin, Ayes 9, Nays_O. Ordinance adopted. ORDINANCE NO* An Ordinance appropriating the su# of $9 :731.31 from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana, to the Aviation "Department of said City.` The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman Hull was referred to the Committee of the Whole, also that a Public Hearing be held May 29th, 1934 at 7:30 o'clock P_. M .' Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. An Ordinance Ratifying, approving and confirming a Contract of the Board of Public Works for the Purchase of a Street Flusher. The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman Altfeld was referred to the Committee of the 'Whole, also that the Members o Board -of Public: Works be present. INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN JULIUS ALTFELD. WHEREAS, The American Legion Post No. 50.of South Bend,41nainadna, proposes to hold a boat race on the St. Joseph River Sunday afternoon, May 27th2 193,, Whereas, in order to effectually realize any funds by reason of sa3Ia boat race it is neo to to charge�a small admission fee to the place and /% or places of vantage along the proposed route said boat race; and Whereas, in order.to charge_anadmission`fee-to•the• place arid/ or places�of vantage along the proposed route of_ said boat race it is,t - necessary to contr ®1 the -ingress to said place and or places; and �1HEREA�3, in .order to control the ingress to said place and for places of vantage it is necessary to temporarily block off the ends of certain streets and / or avenues in the City of South Bend; therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that by and�witY the consent of the Board of Public Safety and the Board of Park Commissioners of said City, The American Legion Post No. 50 is hereby authorized and permitted to block off for a temporary period on Sunday May 27th, 1934, the south ends of South St. Louis Boulevard, South an Peter street, South Notre Dame Avenue, youth St- Frenue the streets$withtEdgewa trance Drive.
