SPECIAL MEETING.
Be it Remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana=, met in
Special Session in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Monday evening February lth, 1934
at the hour of 5;30 o'clock P. M. All Members present except Councilman Nelson. Vice— .9Presiden
Grzeskowiak presided.
STATE OF INDIANA CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY SS: COMMON COUNCIL.
CITY'OF SOUTH BEND
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF-THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority by law vested in us as
Councilmen of the City of South Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said
City is hereby called for 5:00 o'clock P. M., on Monday evening, February 5th, 1934, or as
soon thereafter as convenient for the purpose of Receiving Reports and for Third Reading and
taking action on the following Ordinances, which Ordinance Titles are as follows:
H An Ordinance appropriating the sum of Twenty- Thousand Four Hundred Eighty
Dollars ($20,450000) from the General Fund of the City of South'Bend to the
Department of Public Safety for its Fire g Department for additional Salaries
and Wages for increase in the Salaries and Wagesof the Members ofs said Fire
Department

M An Ordinance Providing for the Borrowing of the sum of Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000,00)- from'the City Mater Works of the City of South Bend d, Indiana, by
the Municipal City of South Bend; for its General Fund and an appropriation
of said sum of Four Thousand Collars. ($4000.00) to the Finance Department
of said City for the Purpose of Repjeairing and Redecorating of the City Hall
and.Fire Stations of said City by Civic Works Association' ":

Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance Providing for the
Borrowing of the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) from the City Water Works of the
City of 2 South Bend, Indiana, by the Municipal City of South Bend, for its General Fund
and an appropriation of said sum of Four Thousand Dollars (0+000.) to the Finance Department
of said City for the Purpose of Repeairing and Redecorating of the City Hall and Fire
Stations of said City by Civic Works Association. Respectfully report that they have examined
the matter and that in their opinion the said Ordinance should be reported Favorable as
amended by changing the words "Civic Works Association "to Civil Works Administration ".

ORDINANCE NO. 04
An Ordinance appropriating the sum of Twenty Thousand Four Hundred axd Eighty ($ -q, &450.
00) from the General Fund of the City of South Bend to the Department of Public Safety
for-its Fire Department for Additional Salaries and Wages for increase in the salaries and
Wages--of the Members of said Fire Department.'
The Ordinance was given its 1i third reading by title, and was placed upon its passage
and passed by the dwmm following vote: Whiteman, Rokop, Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, Altfeld, Hisq
akley, Grzeskowiak, Cripe and Gustin, Ayes 11, Nays 0. Ordinance adopted.
ORDINANCE NO. 0� 4-6.
An Ordinance Providing for the Borrowing of the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00)
from the City Water Works of the City of South Bend, Indianak, by the Municipal City of South
Bend for its General Fund xi and an appropriation of said sum of Four Thousand Dollars
($4000.) to the Finance Department of said City for the purpose of m Repairing and Redecorat-
ing of the City Hall and Fire Stations of said City by Civil Works Idministration.

Oakley, Gxrzeskowiak, Cripe and Gustin, Ayes 11, Nays 0. Ordinance adopted.
RESOLUTION. INTRODUCTED BY COUNCILMAN GEO. W. 60ETZ.
"WHEREAS, elentless death has invaded the home of our brother, Stephen Grzeskowiak, °°end
taken therefrom his father, John Grzeskowiak; and
"WHEREAS, Our deep sympathy goes out to the family of the deceased.
Now, therefore, be it
"RESOLVED, That we extend unto our brother member and to the deceased's family our
sincere sympathy; and be-it further
"RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be enrolled upon the records of this Body and a
certified copy thereof be sent by the 05ty Clerk unto the members of the deceased's family.
On Motion of Councilman Altfeld the Resolution was adopted. Motion carried.
On Motion of Councilman Rokop the Council adjourned at 5:50 o'clock P. M. Motion carried.
