Be it Remembered that the Common Council of the City of Soutl r Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Monday evening September 19th, 1932 at,the hour of 101.30 o'clock P. M., All Members present. Bre.aldent Nelson presided. STATE OF INDIANA - CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING COUNTY OF ST. JOSEPH SS OF THE CITY OF -SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNC IL TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: y �, You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority by law vested::in me as Mayor of the 29 City of South Bend, of the State of Indiana, a special meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to be held at the hour of 7:30 o'clook P. M., or-as soon thereafter as convenient, on Monday evening September 19, 1932, iri the Council Chambers in said City, for the purpose of passing the following ordinances, to -wit: " An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy.for the year 1932 for the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana" " An Ordinance appropriating monies for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the several departments of the City Government of the Civil City of $o1}th Bend, Indiana, for the year beginning January 1, 1933, and ending December 31,1933_, including all outstanding claims and obligations and fixing a time when the sam e'shall take effect.' REPORT OF CITY - CLERK'S CERTIFICATE OF PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF TAX LEVIES* In the Matter of Determing the Tax Rates for Certain Purposes by South Bend, Indiana.` South Bendt' Indiana, September 19th, 1932• I, Gladys M.' Monroe, City Clerk of the City ofvSouth Bend, Indiana, do hereby certify that a copy of the attached notice was published on August 31st and September 7th, 1932 in the Evening Editions of the South Bend News Times and The South Bend Tribune of the City of South Bend, Indiana, also that I have posted notices in the following places, to -wit: City Hall, South Bend, Indiana, Court House, South Bend, Indiana, Telephone Pole at the South East Corner of the Alley on West Madison Street between North Michigan and North Main Streets, South Bend, Indiana: In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal ofnthe City of South Bend, State of Indiana, this 19th day of September, A.` D." 1932.' Your Committee of the Whole recommends that the Ordinance makin the tax levy xa introduced in the Common Council Aug' 29th 1932 be amended to read as follows: f here insert and that it be passed.as amended.' John C.' Hiss, Chairman Committee of the Whole.' MOTION. I Move that the Report of the Committee of the Whole of the Ordinance introduced August 29th, 1932 entitled " An Ordinance Fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1932, for the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana" be accepted and concgxrred.' (Signed 3 Geo.' F.' Hull Member of the Common Council." The Motion was accepted by the Council and ordered to be placed on file.` Motion carried. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE. To the Common Council South Bend, Ind:'_ Your Committee of the Whole recommends that the Ordinance fixin the Budget introduced in the Common Council Aug. 29th, 1932 be amended & read as follows: here insert) and that it be passed as amended. I Move that the Report of the Committee of the Whole of the Ordinance introduced August 29th, 1932 entitled " An Ordinance appropriating Monies for the Purpose of Defraying the expenses of the Several Departments of the City Governmentmof the Civil City of South Bend, Indianaaa, for the Year Beginning January 1, 1933, and ending December 31, 1933, including all outstanding Claims and obligations and fixing a time when the same shall take effect.". Motion carried. _ _ - 160 Concluded) ORDINANCE NO* 29950 An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the Year 1932 for themunicip.Al Civil Oily of South Bend, Indiana4 The Ordinance was given its third reading bybtitle and by was placed upon its passage and passed by the following vote: Nelson, Whiteman, Rokopt Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, Altfeld, Hiss, Grzeskowiak., Cripe and Gustin voting Aye., Oakley voting Kay, Ayes 11, Nays 10*' Ordinan( adopted as amended*' ORDINANCE NO. 2996,' An_ Ordinance appropriating Monies for the Purpose of Defraying the Expenses of the Several Departments of the City Government of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, for the Year Beginning January 1, 1933, and ending December 31, 1933, including all Outstanding Claims and Obligations and fixing a time when the same shall take effect*' The Ordinance was given its third reading by title,. and was placed upon its passage arie passed by the following vote: Nelsons Whiteman, Rokops Goetz, Hull, Jaworski, Altfeld, Hiss, Grzeskowiak,0ripe and Gustin, voting Aye, Oakley,voting Nay.
